This policy sets the standards for content published by DubaiCitylink. Its purpose is to make the basis of an article clear enough for readers to assess its usefulness and limitations.

Choosing topics

We prioritise questions relevant to people researching life, businesses and services in Dubai. Related international topics should have a clear connection to our audience. Headlines should describe the content accurately and avoid promises that the evidence cannot support.

Research and sources

Material factual claims should be traceable to suitable sources. Laws, eligibility conditions and official procedures require current legislation or information from the responsible authority. Company information should be checked against relevant registries, original documents or direct statements where available.

A company website is evidence of what the company says, not independent confirmation of every claim. Customer accounts, press coverage and third-party review platforms provide context but need to be assessed for relevance, dates and reliability. Where evidence conflicts or is unavailable, the article should explain the uncertainty.

Authorship and expertise

Articles must identify their author. Author profiles should describe real experience relevant to the topics covered. Editing, authorship and specialist review are different roles and should be credited accurately.

Content about citizenship, residence, taxation, property or investments requires particular care because readers may make consequential decisions. Writers must distinguish general information from personal advice. Any claim that a qualified professional reviewed a material must identify the person and reflect work that actually took place.

Original work and illustrations

Contributors are expected to add useful explanation, comparison or research rather than reproduce promotional copy. Quotations and third-party materials must be attributed and used with appropriate permission or another lawful basis.

Images must not be presented as evidence of an actual person, visit, office or customer experience if they are illustrative, stock or generated. Relevant captions should make that distinction clear.

Company coverage and commercial interests

Reviews follow our Review Methodology. Editorial conclusions should match the evidence, including significant limitations and relevant drawbacks. Contributors must disclose material conflicts of interest.

DubaiCitylink does not publish paid company reviews or sponsored articles. Research is based on public sources, including customer feedback across relevant external platforms. Our Advertising and Affiliate Disclosure explains the current approach and the disclosures required before introducing any future commercial arrangements.

AI and automation

If AI tools assist research organisation, translation or drafting, the responsible contributor must check the output against reliable sources before publication. AI output is not a source in itself. It must not be used to invent quotations, customer experiences, professional credentials or supporting documents.

When substantial automated assistance would be relevant to a reader’s understanding of how a material was produced, the article should explain the use and the human review involved.

Updates and accountability

Dates should reflect actual publication or substantive review. Changing a date alone does not make an article current. Significant errors and updates are handled under our Corrections and Updates Policy.
