Dubai Chamber of Commerce Welcomes 70,000+ New Companies in 2024

Record Growth in Membership and Trade

Dubai Chamber of Commerce saw significant expansion in 2024, with 70,500 new companies joining its ranks, bringing total active membership to 258,318 – an 18% increase from 2023. This growth reinforces Dubai’s position as a leading global business hub.

The chamber also recorded a historic milestone, as the value of exports and re-exports by its members surpassed AED 300 billion for the first time, reaching AED 309.6 billion, reflecting a 9.2% annual growth. Additionally, 791,115 Certificates of Origin were issued, marking an 8% rise, while 5,357 ATA Carnets facilitated international trade worth AED 4.3 billion.

Strengthening Public-Private Collaboration

His Excellency Abdul Aziz Abdulla Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, highlighted Dubai’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment, driven by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The chamber continues to play a crucial role in supporting economic growth and expanding opportunities for businesses locally and globally.

Key Initiatives and Business Support

  • Legislation & Advocacy: The chamber reviewed 107 laws and draft laws, with 58% of recommendations adopted.
  • Business Councils: Nine new councils were launched, representing investors from Greece, Poland, Mexico, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Costa Rica, South Korea, and Vietnam.
  • Mediation Services: 171 mediation cases were handled, a 3% increase from 2023, with 88% successfully settled.

Key Initiatives and Business Support

Enhancing Legal and Business Awareness

  • 38 legal workshops were held, educating 2,698 business representatives on compliance and best practices.
  • The Dubai Centre for Family Businesses conducted four training programs, five governance sessions, and launched four toolkits to support family enterprises.

Commitment to Sustainability

To promote corporate responsibility, the chamber introduced an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) label, recognizing 27 companies for their sustainability achievements. The 2024 Sustainability Week attracted 526 business participants, focusing on digitalization and AI’s role in sustainable practices.
