The UAE has announced the closure of a major highway

Dubai-Al-Ain-Road

The Dubai Roads and Transportation Authority has announced the commencement of roadwork on the E66 highway, which connects Al Ain and Dubai. The construction will continue until September 9, 2024, with potential traffic delays expected on weekdays.

During weekends, traffic will be blocked near the intersection with the Jebel Ali – Lehbab highway in both directions. The Dubai-Al Ain highway will be completely closed from 01:00 to 10:00 during the night for maintenance work on the bridge.

Authorities advise drivers to familiarize themselves with the new traffic plan and U-turns at roundabouts when planning their trips between Al Ain and Dubai.

Previously, the Dubai Roads and Transportation Authority announced the construction of a new bridge and exit from Sheikh Zayed Highway to enhance access to the popular Mall of the Emirates. The 300-meter single-lane bridge, costing 165 million dirhams, will also feature pedestrian and bicycle lanes.

The project is expected to reduce travel time from Jebel Ali district from 10 minutes to one minute, and from Umm Suqeim Street from 15 minutes to eight minutes.
